Private message problem

I've been running Invision 3515 + patch with no probs. Now for some reason, when someone private messages me, It opens a "messages" window instead of the normal pm window I always got. This is the same "messages" box I get when I'm away with the "Messages to single window when away" box is checked in "away manger- general settings.
I am not away and this is driving me crazy. I tried connecting to a different new network to try & it does the same.

try to uncheck messages to a single window then go away and come back see if that helps

Also press alt +o and then go to IRC and make sure you dont have that option checked there
