Every time I'm on my IRC i keep getting disconnected... Sometimes it doesnt connect for at least five minutes.....I end up getting a message saying " [10053] Software caused connection abort"
is there anything wrong with it or is it just a bug?

There are MANY reasons for such a message. The most common is a poor internet connection. It's not really "software" caused... I'm not sure why the message uses those words.
For an entire list of things to try to resolve that, look on the forum on http://www.mIRC.com in the Connection Problems forum. There's a sticky post on the topic. It's a long topic, but there's so much in there that trying to post it again doesn't make sense.
