I also have XP Service Pack 2. If this fix is conflicting with my IRC connection, how can it be circumvented?

People need to keep the topics in each thread consistent and not change topics... oh well...

1) Criten had a network problem (they were DDoS'd), so you couldn't/can't connect until the problem was/is fixed. It has nothing to do with you.

2) *DON'T* get SP2. It's got problems (could have told you that before it was released).

3) For the off-topic post... type "/join #channelname" to join a channel, or click the channel button at the top.

Was getting on no problem with the uk address, but went to log on today and it doesn't work, the addy L|B supplied doesn't work either for me. Anyone know of another way?

As stated, criten is being attacked. If you can't get on, you really aren't going to get around it until it's working again. Any servers that are displayed will likely only be online for a short time because until the attacks stop, all servers will keep getting attacked causing them to crash. This is the same thing that happened to Dalnet 1.5 years ago.
