Lag and lock ups

Postby ugmo1E » Wed Dec 22, 2004 8:54 pm

I am using mirc 6.14 current version of invision, with the patch from ircmadeasy on a winxp pro os.
durring my time on channels all windows lag, any thing i try to do, ie: minimize windows, type, cut and paste... i get a lag... it is very irritating...

I have tried a clean reinstall of mirc, invision and still same prob.

has anyone had this problem, is there a fix?

Logs/Buffers

Try changing your logging settings and buffer settings in mIRC's options. If you're logging channels that move by quickly (or logging many channels at once) and/or if your buffer is set really high, you will have issues of "lag." Press Alt-O and check those settings.

It can also be caused by running too many other programs at the same time (or a few programs that use a lot of resources). For example, if you are trying to compress a couple ISOs with WinRAR, you will have this problem.
