Fileserve DCC problem just cannot solve !!!

Hi all

I got a fileserver running on efnet channel which worked fine
but now I have major problems with it...
I use latest mirc and latest invision script....
I have adsl connection and have a router/4 port hub which has
a firewall which is disabled.........
the router also serves another pc upstairs..which is for my son

however my troubles come from dcc transfer....it works fine when first installed but after a week or so it just stops letting people into the fileserver .....
I tried restore backup settings but this does not work
I just re-insatll mirc and invision and then use the restore backup settings and it works fine for about another week...... I cannot discover where the problem lies

I even had one occasion when the efnet server disconnected the connected

and the dcc stopped working then !!!!

and all this happens if I try to use polaris instead... !!!

has anyone got any suggestions

BTW the router has a firewall which is disabled and I do not have windows firewall on either

the system I run is windows xp

Is the router Configured for port Authoring? In order for people to connect to you ( even with the firewall in the router off ) You need to specify how they are gonna get to your PC and not just the router. I have some tutorias on router set up here if U would like to try and see if that helps you.

I dont know what you mean by port authoring ? please explain
I looked at the guides on your site and I appear to be doing
everything that your guide is saying.

but what gets me is how everytime I install the script from fresh
it works fine for a few days even after the computer has been off and on
but just randomly stops working for ages...then sometimes starts working again

and the people that try to access me have no trouble on other fileservers

please can anyone help...this is driving me nuts !!!!
